Concern AEW Will Extend Rey Fenix's Contract

AEW could potentially extend Rey Fenix’s contract

The Lucha Bros of Penta El Zero Miedo and Rey Fenix are seemingly on their way out of All Elite Wrestling, with it strongly believed the team will head to WWE once their AEW contracts expire.

However, there could potentially be some wrinkles in the Lucha Bros' exits from AEW, with Dave Meltzer reporting in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that there is every chance that AEW could extend Fenix’s contract by another year due to time owed due to injuries.

If AEW were to exercise such a clause then it would scupper any chance of the Lucha Bros entering WWE at the same time as a package - if they are indeed set to join the ‘sports entertainment’ powerhouse.

Penta and Fenix are both still believed to be under contract to AEW, although Penta has allegedly claimed to those close to him that he has held talks with WWE.

The Lucha Bros were originally set to team with Death Triangle partner PAC to challenge for the AEW World Trios Championships at All In Wembley Stadium on August 25, but these plans were scrapped when it became clear that Penta and Fenix were looking to run down their deals and exit the company.
