Hammerstone Makes Surprise WWE NXT Debut

WWE NXT saw the surprise debut of TNA’s Hammerstone

A new name crossed the line from TNA to WWE on the September 10 edition of NXT, as Hammerstone made a surprise appearance to face Oba Femi on Tony D’Angelo’s behalf.

D’Angelo ‘paid off’ a shadowy figure to face Oba Femi on a video clip posted to the NXT Anonymous X/Twitter page on September 9, with Hammerstone ultimately revealed as Tony D’s hired muscle. Despite his best efforts, though, Hammerstone couldn’t get the job done, Oba Femi picking up the win with a powerbomb.

Hammerstone is best known for his dominant run in MLW, where he reigned as MLW World Heavyweight Champion for 644 days. Hammerstone left MLW in early 2024, debuting for TNA at Hard to Kill in a losing effort against Josh Alexander in January, before signing with the promotion a month later.

TNA’s presence on NXT didn’t stop there, with TNA Knockouts World Champion Jordynne Grace also in action on September 10. The ‘Juggernaut’ put the title on the line against Sol Ruca on the show, but was interrupted by the strange pairing of Wendy Choo and Rosemary.
