Backstage News On The Bloodline's WWE NXT Appearance

Why WWE had The Bloodline appear on NXT has been revealed

On the September 10 episode of NXT, one of the last few to air on the USA Network, members of The Bloodline in Jacob Fatu, Tama Tonga and Tonga Loa showed up in a surprise appearance on the developmental brand, attacking both the teams of Axiom & Nathan Frazer and The Street Profits, bringing the NXT Tag Team Championship match to a close in a no contest.

The reason behind this interference, aside from the ongoing SmackDown feud between The Bloodline & The Street Profits over the WWE Tag Team Titles, has been revealed by Dave Meltzer in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter. The idea behind the surprise was to push the notion ahead of NXT’s debut on The CW network that anyone from the WWE main roster could show up at any time, potentially driving up viewers in case anyone from RAW or SmackDown shows up unannounced.

WWE is said to be pushing for The CW debut on October 1 to reach over 1 million viewers, loading up the show with the likes of CM Punk, The Miz, and WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions Bianca Belair & Jade Cargill.
