The Bloodline Become WWE Tag Team Championship Number One Contenders

The Bloodline will take on DIY for the WWE Tag Team Championships

The Bloodline faction has been without gold ever since WrestleMania 40 when Roman Reigns dropped the Undisputed WWE Championship to Cody Rhodes. Prior to that, it was The Usos losing the Undisputed WWE Tag Team Championships a year earlier at WrestleMania 39 which marked the other title reign which took place in the group.

However, the new look Bloodline have taken their first step towards championship gold, as former seven-time IWGP World Tag Team Champion Tama Tonga and The Bloodline’s newest member Jacob Fatu have earned a shot at the WWE Tag Team Championships.

Last night’s episode of Friday Night SmackDown (which was taped due to WWE’s tour of Japan this week) featured a tag team gauntlet match featuring Apollo Crews & Baron Corbin, The Street Profits, The OC, The Bloodline, Legado Del Fantasma and Pretty Deadly. It came down to The Bloodline and The Street Profits in the final stretch, as Fatu hit a superkick, Samoan Drop, and double-jump moonsault to score the win for his team.

It isn’t known when the match will take place, but they will be taking on Johnny Gargano & Tommaso Ciampa of DIY at some point in the future for the WWE Tag Team Championships.
