The Bloodline Win WWE Tag Team Championships On SmackDown

The Bloodline defeated DIY to become the NEW champions

Despite only winning the WWE Tag Team Championships just one month ago, defeating A-Town Down Under (Austin Theory & Grayson Waller) on the July 5 episode of Friday Night SmackDown, the first main roster title reign for DIY (Johnny Gargano & Grayson Waller) has already come to an end. After earning a WWE Tag Team Title shot last week in a gauntlet match, The Bloodline duo of Tama Tonga & Jacob Fatu got their match this week, and they made the most of that opportunity.

The main event of SmackDown saw a back and forth match, though it was ultimately the dominance of Fatu which prevailed. Towards the end of the bout, he brushed off a Poisonrana from Gargano, before nailing him with a superkick and Samoan Drop combination. He climbed to the top rope, hit a splash, and pinned him for the three count.

Following the bout, the new “Tribal Chief” Solo Sikoa was presented with the gold, placing both belts over his shoulders as the show went off air. This is the first gold held by the new-look Bloodline ever since Solo Sikoa took charge of the faction.
