Report: WWE Aiming To Draw 1 Million Viewers For NXT's CW Premiere
WWE are loading up the show in the hops of popping a number.
On Tuesday, October 1, WWE NXT will officially move from the USA Network to The CW.
According to the Wrestling Observer's Dave Meltzer, the company are hoping to draw a big number for the debut episode. Speaking on a recent edition of Wrestling Observer Radio, Meltzer said:
"They're really loading up. They really want a million viewers. I don't know if that's possible. Put it this way, Punk is a really big draw so I don't think that that's out of the realm of possibility. And they're promoting the show super hard and I expect Bianca Belair and Jade [Cargill] are going to be on that as well. So there's going to be a lot of main roster people on it. But that's the goal".
As well as appearances by CM Punk, Bianca Belair and Jade Cargill, The Miz will host an edition of Miz TV on the show.
In addition, the October 1 episode will feature two title matches as Ethan Page defends his NXT Title against Trick Williams and Roxanne Perez puts her NXT Women's Title on the line against Giulia.
More appearances and matches may be announced in the coming weeks, with The Motor City Machine Guns reportedly heading to NXT sooner rather than later.
