Ilja Dragunov Vs. JD McDonagh Set For WWE NXT

Ilja Dragunov vs. JD McDonagh confirmed for WWE NXT

It’s safe to say that there are serious issues between JD McDonagh and Ilja Dragunov, and such issues were made abundantly clear on the March 14 edition of WWE NXT when the two former NXT UK competitors brawled all through the WWE Performance Center.

The brawl was sparked when Dragunov took the mic saying he wanted to be rid of McDonagh, later challenging JD to a match on the March 21 edition of NXT after McDonagh claimed the feud between the two would never die. The pair then fought to the back as security failed to break them up, later re-emerging inside the Performance Center and fighting at ringside during Wes Lee’s North American title Open Challenge, with the fracas sparking a mass locker room brawl and causing such pandemonium that NXT Officials were forced to throw Lee’s match out.

Dragunov and McDonagh have been at odds since Dragunov’s return to NXT earlier this year, with the former WWE United Kingdom Champion blaming McDonagh for the eye injury that kept him on the shelf for several months.

The match between the two on March 21 will be their first singles bout since October 2022, when McDonagh emerged victorious thanks to a referee’s decision.
