Injured Wrestler Returns At Impact Tapings
It had been a lengthy absence
A familiar face returned at the Impact Wrestling tapings in Nashville on Saturday, after being on the shelf for close to one year with a serious injury.
Fightful Select has reported that Heath Slater (known simply as Heath in Impact) appeared at Saturday's tapings, making his first appearance in 11 months.
Heath suffered a partially torn abductor muscle during a gauntlet match at Bound For Glory last October. He was actually booked to win the match (for which he would receive a contract with Impact, per the story), but the injury led to an audible being called. Instead, longtime tag partner Rhino won the match, enabling Heath to get "hired".
Heath was released from WWE in April of 2020, as part of the slew of "Black Wednesday" cuts. Shortly after his non-compete expired that July, Heath was one of several ex-WWE talents that debuted at Impact's Slammiversary.
In addition to wrestling for Impact in his post-WWE life, Heath has also worked for Doc Gallows' Georgia-based Lariato Pro organization, as well as indies in Michigan and West Virginia.
