Jeff Hardy Returns On Next Week's WWE SmackDown

His redemption story continues...

After more than a year out of the ring (with the exception of one match), former multi-time WWE singles and tag team champion Jeff Hardy returns to SmackDown on next week's broadcast.

After several weeks of vignettes, it was announced at the end of Friday night's promo video that Hardy would be on next week's show.

Hardy has a waiting rival in Sheamus, who will confront the returning star next week. In the meantime, Sheamus has kept busy by demolishing enhancement talents on SmackDown.

Hardy last wrestled on the March 13 episode of SmackDown, defeating King Corbin in a brief match. Previously, Hardy had missed close to a year of action after injuring his leg at a live event in Madison, WI in April 2019. As a result of the injury, he and then-WWE talent Matt Hardy were forced to vacate the SmackDown Tag Team titles.

During Hardy's time away, he was twice arrested, once for public intoxication in July, and again for a DUI in October. It was reported earlier that Hardy sought help from WWE for his ongoing issues shortly before the latter arrest.
