John Cena Addresses His WWE WrestleMania 39 Performance

John Cena talks about WWE WrestleMania 39, and what he feels he can deliver at this stage of his career.

In a recent appearance on Busted Open Radio with Bully Ray and Dave LaGreca, John Cena spoke about his current level of wrestling performance, mentioning his recent match with Austin Theory at WWE WrestleMania 39.

Cena stated: "I wish I was still there every day. My body can’t do it anymore. I don’t wanna give the consumer a bad product. That’s another thing I learned from those veterans at the time. I’m at a point where everything I have in comparison to the bar that’s been set, boy... What I have is what you saw at WrestleMania 39. That’s what I feel confident that I can deliver, and that’s really nice for here and there. That’s not every day in the WWE."

Cena lost to Austin Theory in the opening bout of night one of WrestleMania, a match for the WWE United States Championship (a title Cena has held five times over the course of his career.)

Prior to WrestleMania, Cena wrestled only once in all of 2022, teaming with Kevin Owens to defeat Roman Reigns and Sami Zayn on a December episode of SmackDown.
