John Cena Spotted In France Ahead Of WWE Backlash

Although he will soon be unavailable for WWE bookings due to filming of season two of 'Peacemaker', John Cena may well be in line to make a surprise appearance at WWE Backlash this weekend.

The 47-year-old has been spotted in Nice, France this week, being pictured with a fan and their son while he was drinking espresso at a coffee shop. Nice is four hours away from Lyon, France, the city that will host Friday Night SmackDown on May 3 and Backlash on Saturday, May 4. Both shows will emanate from the LDLC Arena. 

Cena is currently in Nice, France due to filming of 'Heads of State', an Amazon Studios movie starring, in addition to Cena, Idris Elba and Priyanka Chopra Jonas. 

Cena last appeared on WWE TV on the Raw after WrestleMania 40 where he made R-Truth's childhood dream come true, teaming with Ron Killings and The Miz to defeat Judgment Day's Finn Balor, Dominik Mysterio, and JD McDonagh. Cena's appearance came one day after he helped Cody Rhodes defeat Roman Reigns for the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship in the main event of WrestleMania.
