Mercedes Moné Set To Finalise Divorce

Mercedes Moné, appearing in the pilot of Moné Talks on her YouTube channel, confirmed she is set to finalise her divorce from WWE costume designer Sarath Ton (AKA Mikaze). Moné's divorce will be finalised today. 

"That's part of why I wanted to do this pilot too, because tomorrow, finally, after a long, long time, I'll be finally signing my divorce papers. I'm excited, happy. And for me, I'm just ready to be free. I'm ready to be free of not being afraid," Moné stated.

The couple have been separated since 2020 but they opted to keep the news private due to Moné's appearances in The Mandalorian and her attempts to secure the main event of WrestleMania 37, which she ultimately did, headlining night one against Bianca Belair. 

Moné noted another reason she kept the divorce hidden while she was a part of WWE was because she didn't know how Vince McMahon would react. 

"You don't know what Vince is going to do, you don't know what he's going to change, because Vince is very...I was in a storyline with Bianca [Belair], Carmella, and Carmella's sommelier [Reggie], and Vince was so obsessed with me and the sommelier, and I'm like, 'Oh my God, he wanted us to be together,' and all this stuff. So me and Sarath decided we were going to keep this a secret. And then a year goes by and I still don't want to say anything, and then here comes the [WWE] walkout. Like, all this stuff happens," Moné added.

Mercedes Moné walked out of WWE in May 2022 and she is now a part of All Elite Wrestling, having joined the promotion earlier this year. Moné will defend the TBS Championship against Britt Baker at All In on August 25 inside Wembley Stadium.
