Natalya Makes Surprise Appearance On WWE NXT 2.0
Natalya is back in NXT for the first time since 2014
Natalya made a surprise return to WWE NXT on the April 12 edition of NXT 2.0, confronting Cora Jade and putting the women's division on notice.
Cora Jade was in the ring cutting a promo when the former SmackDown Women’s Champion appeared, coming to the ring to congratulate Cora on her run so far in NXT 2.0. Cora shared stories of how Natalya was her favourite star growing up, and how Natalya pointed at her years back at a WWE live event, with Natalya fighting back tears as she soaked up the adulation and proclaimed Cora as the future.
However Natalya soon showed her true colours, slapping Cora in the face before locking in The Sharpshooter. Natalya later made her way backstage and put the entire NXT Women’s Division on notice, stating that ‘the BOAT is here’.
This marks Natalya’s first NXT appearance since a dark match loss to Becky Lynch in 2016, with Natalya being a regular performer for the brand from 2012 to 2014.
There’s no word yet on if Natalya will be a regular presence on the brand going forward, or if this will be a storyline for several weeks, in line with WWE sending ‘main roster’ stars like AJ Styles and Dolph Ziggler for quick runs on 2.0.
