René Duprée: WWE Have Been Looking To Bring Me Back For Years

Dupree departed WWE in 2007

René Duprée has claimed that WWE have been trying to convince him to re-join the company for years.

Duprée, a former two-time WWE Tag Team champion during his time with the promotion, departed WWE in 2007. The 37-year-old has since worked around the world but says WWE have tried to sway him in returning, but indicated he didn't want to live in the USA anymore.

Speaking on the latest edition of Rewind, Recap, Relive, he said: "Well they’ve [WWE] been looking to bring me back for years. Yeah. But I just mentally, I was just...because I’d have to live in the United States and ah…"

Having joined Ohio Valley Wrestling in 2002, Dupree debuted in WWE as a part of La Résistance a year later. He won his two Tag Team Championships with Sylvain Grenier and Kenzo Suzuki, while also competing in the SmackDown mid-card scene as a singles performer in 2004, challenging John Cena for the United States Championship.

After leaving WWE in 2007, Dupree returned to the independent scene, worked for All Japan Pro Wrestling, and currently competes in Pro Wrestling Noah.
