Report: Adam Cole Departs WWE
The former NXT Champion is officially a free agent
Adam Cole is apparently done with WWE, and is currently a free agent.
According to reports from Fightful Select, Cole’s contract officially expired on Friday August 27, and he hasn’t re-signed with WWE.
WWE sources indicated to Fightful that they expect the former NXT Champion to field offers, and that Cole was not at SmackDown last Friday, nor was he meeting with the McMahons, as was speculated when he cancelled his Twitch streaming session last week.
Cole’s future is still up in the air though, there is every chance he could opt to re-sign with WWE, or he could jump to another company such as AEW.
With extended history with The Elite in AEW, and his girlfriend Dr. Britt Baker reigning as AEW Women’s Champion, many have speculated that Cole becoming All Elite is the next logical step in his career. However, with so many big names being released from WWE, don’t be surprised if the McMahons offer Cole an offer he can’t refuse.
