Report: Goldberg's WWE WrestleMania 36 Opponent Revealed

After Roman Reigns pulled out...

Last night, Ryan Satin at Pro Wrestling Sheet reported Roman Reigns had decided to pull out of his Universal Championship match against Goldberg at WrestleMania 36. The match was due to be taped on March 25 or March 26 but The Big Dog did not want to risk his health and withdrew from the show.

Many speculated as to who Goldberg's opponent at The Showcase Of The Immortals could be at short notice, with names like Jeff Hardy and Daniel Bryan being touted around.

The Universal Champion will have to defend his title against a Monster Among Men, however, as Dave Meltzer revealed on Wrestling Observer Radio that Braun Strowman will now go one on one with Goldberg and the match was taped yesterday. To explain the change, the two opponents also taped an angle last night for tonight's episode of Friday Night SmackDown.

Meltzer said: "Roman Reigns did not wrestle Bill Goldberg. I believe Braun Strowman wrestled Bill Goldberg."

He later added: "I'm under the impression that on tonight's SmackDown show that they'll acknowledge it and shoot an angle."
