Report: Jimmy Wang Yang Re-Signs With WWE As Backstage Producer

Wang Yang is back

Jimmy Wang Yang - real name James Yun - has made a third return to WWE.

Dave Meltzer reported in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that Wang Yang started working as a producer on Monday Night Raw on October 25.

Thus begins Wang Yang's fourth run with the company.

After beginning his career in World Championship Wrestling, WWE picked up Yang's contract when they purchased WCW in 2001. The new producer then remained with the company as a developmental talent until his release in January 2002.

He returned to WWE just over a year later in September 2003 as Akio and aligned himself with Sakoda and Tajiri as a Japanese faction. Once the group disbanded, though, Yun became a lower-card wrestler until he was released again in July 2005.

Yang ended up being re-signed once again in August 2006 and he was repackaged as Jimmy Wang Yang, a cowboy with short hair and a fu manchu moustache. He used the gimmick until he was released for a third time in April 2010.
