Report: Major Update On WWE SummerSlam Plans For Cody Rhodes

Cody Rhodes' plans for WWE SummerSlam have been revealed

Cody Rhodes will be in action at the SummerSlam pay-per-view on Saturday, August 5 from Ford Field in Detroit, Michigan and his opponent has been revealed.

Speaking on Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer reported that Cody will face Brock Lesnar for the third time in their rubber match at SummerSlam. Reports in recent weeks had noted that Rhodes vs. Lesnar III was likely being saved for SummerSlam but it had not been confirmed.

Rhodes and Lesnar have been feuding since the Raw after WrestleMania 39 when Brock turned heel. Cody won their first match at Backlash but Lesnar emerged victorious from their second encounter at Night of Champions shortly after Rhodes suffered a storyline broken arm at the hands of Lesnar.

Since then, Cody has issued an open challenge to face Brock any time, any place.

What Rhodes will be doing at Money in the Bank on July 1 has not been confirmed but he is expected to be involved in the men's ladder match. Talents already confirmed for the ladder match include LA Knight, Ricochet, and Shinsuke Nakamura.
