Report: Ric Flair's WWE Contract Expiring At End Of 2019, Could Sign With AEW

Could The Nature Boy return to TNT?

Since returning to WWE in May 2012, Ric Flair has appeared sporadically on TV. His most recent appearance was at Crown Jewel when Team Flair faced Team Hogan.

Flair may not appear on WWE TV again, however. Dave Meltzer has reported in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that Flair's contract is set to expire in the next couple of weeks, and he might decide to sign with AEW. The Dirtiest Player In The Game is friends with Tony Khan and the president of AEW even attended Flair's wedding in September 2018.

Meltzer did add that he expects WWE to offer Flair a new deal as they wouldn't want another high profile name to appear in AEW.

For the avoidance of doubt, Meltzer wrote: "Flair’s WWE deal expires right around the end of the year. He is friends with Tony Khan, to the degree that Khan was an invited guest to his wedding. I would expect WWE to make a good offer to keep him given they wouldn’t want him on the AEW television show."
