Report: Sasha Banks Expected To Be At NJPW Wrestle Kingdom 17

Is it Boss Time at the Tokyo Dome?

Mercedes Varnado (WWE's Sasha Banks) is expected to be at New Japan's Wrestle Kingdom 17 next month, according to a new report from Mike Johnson of PWInsider, who cites sources close to the situation.

The report states, "While it is unknown whether Varnado will be appearing before the live crowd, we are told that NJPW is bringing Varnado in to the event."

Varnado previously teased a match with former WWE performer Kairi, who presently reigns as the first ever IWGP Women's champion after winning a tournament last month. Banks has been training in both the US and Mexico in recent months.

Varnado recently filed for numerous trademarks based on her real name, as well as terms like "Mercedes Mone'" "Mone' Talks", "Statement Maker", and others.

The woman once known as Sasha Banks last appeared for WWE in May. While co-reigning as WWE Women's Tag Team champion, Varnado walked out of the company with tag partner Naomi on May 16, over what were reported to be creative differences. The two were subsequently suspended indefinitely, stripped of the belts, and have not returned.
