Report: Several NXT Matches Cancelled, Breakout Feared

Several matches had been previously announced

Wednesday night's NXT broadcast has apparently been compromised, according to a new report from Fightful Select.

Another outbreak is reportedly feared for WWE's third brand, resulting in several significant alterations that will affect the upcoming show.

Planned matches for Wednesday night's card included Dexter Lumis vs. Austin Theory, Leon Ruff vs. Isaiah "Swerve" Scott, Tommaso Ciampa and Timothy Thatcher vs. Imperium members Marcel Barthel and Fabian Aichner, and the NXT debut of LA Knight.

It's not known at this time which matches are officially cancelled, or the effect this will have on NXT and Performance Center matters going forward.

WWE has dealt with several waves of positive tests previously. A reported 30 individuals tested positive at the Performance Center in late June, with several WWE personalities publicly noting their own contraction of COVID-19.

Several outbreaks followed later in the year. A SmackDown taping in early August was cut short due to concerns. Another considerable wave followed in September at the Performance Center. More issues sprung up shortly before NXT's Halloween Havoc in late October.
