Report: WWE Passed On Signing ROH's RUSH

Back at Final Battle 2020, RUSH and Dragon Lee returned to Ring Of Honor. The ROH World Champion went on to retain his title in the main event against Brody King and Dragon Lee successfully defended the ROH World Television Title against Tony Deppen earlier in the show. Both men are expected to re-sign with the promotion, possibly as soon as the end of the week. 

Past reports noted that RUSH's contract was expiring at the end of December and WWE had been interested in signing the ROH World Champion and his brother. Dragon Lee decided to stay put, though, so he could work in New Japan Pro-Wrestling.

Why RUSH didn't end up in WWE has now seemingly come to light. According to Wrestling Inc., the company passed on signing the leader of La Faccion Ingobernable because his asking price was too high. AAA represented RUSH during the talks and WWE's offer was said to be lower than what they had expected. 

WWE's offers to talent have reportedly been down across the board since the COVID-19 pandemic started. The company is no longer in "talent hoarding mode" and several Superstars have passed on new deals because they want to wait until they have more leverage in negotiations.
