Tony Khan Says A WWE & AEW Show Is Unlikely To Take Place Any Time Soon

Tony Khan thinks a WWE x AEW supershow in the next five years is unlikely

Ever since AEW began, the promotion has been very open to working with other promotions, with that being the very foundations that the company was built on. Over the years AEW has worked with the likes of NJPW, TNA, NWA, CMLL, DDT, AAA, Stardom, and others too. Under the new regime, WWE has been more open to working with other companies also, opening their doors with the TNA, Pro Wrestling NOAH, GCW, and Marigold. However, don’t expect WWE and AEW to work together any time soon.

The two sides have been no strangers to throwing shots towards one another, with Tony Khan as recently as last month still alleging WWE contract tampering with his talents. It was also reported last month that WWE had zero interest in running a supershow with AEW with zero discussions taking place about it behind the scenes. Tony Khan has also shut down the chances of that happening any time soon, though he did not close the door on it completely in a recent on Maggie & Perloff.

Khan was first asked when he could envision something like that happening.

“I can't say ever. Anything could happen at some point. It's hard to say. What's the timeline? In the next 100 years, quite possibly.”

When asked about the prospect of it happening in the next five years, Khan claimed that it was far less likely.
