Roderick Strong Returns To WWE NXT With The Diamond Mine

NXT's newest faction has their sights set on Kushida...

The close of this week's NXT saw the much-anticipated debut of The Diamond Mine, and the return of Roderick Strong to the black-and-gold brand.

NXT was main-evented by the hyped match between Kyle O'Reilly and Cruiserweight Champion Kushida, with O'Reilly picking up the victory with a clever roll-up. As the two showed each other respect, O'Reilly was attacked by former teammate Adam Cole as the duo look towards their singles match at The Great American Bash in two weeks.

But it was another former Undisputed Era member who would have the final say on the show, as a hooded individual stormed the ring and assaulted Kushida.

The man was revealed to be Strong, who had 'resigned' from NXT back in April, with the former North American Champion flanked by Tyler Rust and Hideki Suzuki. The trio were also joined by Malcolm Bivens, who presented the NXT Cruiserweight Title to Strong to close out NXT.

The Diamond Mine has been teased regularly on NXT since April but, prior to last night's show, no indication had been given on who would be a part of the group.

Bivens and Rust had been paired together at the end of 2020 but the duo has not been on screen together since February. Suzuki, meanwhile, joined the WWE Performance Center as a coach in April. He has previously competed for Big Japan Pro Wrestling, Wrestle-1, and Zero1.
