Shane McMahon In AEW "Might Work", According To Jim Ross

There goes The Money?

A McMahon in AEW? It might just be crazy enough to work, according to legendary announcer Jim Ross.

Shane McMahon hasn't been seen on WWE television since suffering a torn quadriceps during his impromptu match with The Miz at WrestleMania 39. Since then, Shane's father Vince McMahon has left WWE as a result of former WWE employee Janel Grant's lawsuit against him, John Laurinaitis and the company.

As a result, Shane's future in wrestling is unknown.

Asked about the prospect of the former 54-year-old showing up in Tony Khan's promotion during a recent edition of his Grilling JR podcast, Ross said:

"Yeah, it would. It's so crazy that it might work, depending on how it was positioned and how it was introduced. Shane called me the other day, he's called me two or three times, which I really appreciate. He's always been sensitive in that respect. That's only a question that Shane could answer. Shane and Tony Khan being together, how would that work creatively, heck, who knows? Might be great. But in any event, that all depends on Shane and what he wants to do."

In November, WWE executive Bruce Prichard said 'never say never' with regards to Shane returning to WWE (in comments which were made before Vince McMahon was ousted in January).

Ross, meanwhile, is planning to return to AEW at the Forbidden Door pay-per-view.
