Tommy Dreamer Issues Statement On Dark Side Of The Ring Comments

Dreamer was suspended by Impact on Friday

Tommy Dreamer issued a statement on his comments on this past week's Dark Side of the Ring, regarding an incident onboard the "Plane Ride from Hell" in 2002.

Dreamer wrote, "Regarding my comments on Dark Side of the ring. It was never my intention to offend, hurt, or victim shame anyone. I understand my comments were insensitive & could trigger emotions in someone’s own personal past. I do not condone sexual misconduct of any kind. I apologize to anyone I offended. From the bottom of my heart I am so sorry."

Dreamer commented on an altercation between Ric Flair and flight attendant Heidi Doyle. Dreamer said, in part that Flair was, "not going to impose, by force, any sexual stuff onto anybody. He's just flaunting...stylin' and profilin'...like the Ric Flair stuff where everybody's going to laugh about it. Obviously, somebody took offense to it."

Dreamer also questioned why Doyle chose to settle with WWE and Flair, instead of seeking criminal charges.

Impact Wrestling suspended Dreamer on Friday. He was not present at the company's tapings this weekend in Nashville.
