Tony Khan Says There Are No Plans Between AEW And IMPACT Right Now

Tony Khan declared himself ‘The Forbidden Door’ earlier in 2021

Despite 2021 being the year of the 'forbidden door', opening paths for wrestling companies to work together especially between AEW and IMPACT Wrestling, AEW President Tony Khan has claimed there are no plans for working together between AEW and IMPACT right now.

Khan said as much to Wrestling Observer Live, but insisted that ‘the forbidden door’ isn’t shut:

"It's still open to do stuff, I like those guys a lot and we've done a lot of great stuff. We don't have anything booked right now and that's different than how it's been for the last year or so because for most of 2021, we've had stuff on paper planned and we don't really have anything locked in right now but that's no reason that we can't come up with something. Scott and I talk pretty regularly and I've enjoyed going to Nashville and working with those guys. My post-production office is literally upstairs from where they tape."

Through the working relationship between the two brands we saw Kenny Omega march into IMPACT and win their unified World Championship, whilst IMPACT Tag Champions The Good Brothers were a regular fixture on AEW television as part of the Super Elite.
