Update On Cody Rhodes Following WWE SmackDown Injury Scare

The status of Cody Rhodes has been revealed after last week's WWE SmackDown.

An update has been given following an injury scare for Cody Rhodes following last week's episode of WWE SmackDown.

The episode - which doubled as the first round of this year's WWE Draft - saw Carmelo Hayes called up to SmackDown from NXT, before challenging Rhodes to a singles match. The American Nightmare accepted, and was later able to defeat Hayes with a Cross Rhodes.

However, some fans were concerned following the bout, which saw the Undisputed WWE Champion land on his shoulder off a missed Cody Cutter, and continue to favour the limb for the remainder of the match.

Dave Meltzer of F4WOnline has provided an update on the situation and put those fears to rest, stating:

"Regarding Cody Rhodes holding his shoulder after the missed Oscutter on Friday night in the double miss spot with Carmelo Hayes, the only thing we were told by those in WWE is that there is no injury noted for Rhodes' shoulder."

This would suggest that Cody was simply selling according to plan, or at least that any potential injury to his shoulder will have no lasting impact.
