Update On Status Of Absent AEW Wrestler

Reported creative discussions for the return of an absent AEW star

With the injury list completely stacked up in AEW with names like Adam Cole, Kenny Omega, Adam Copeland, Julia Hart, Jamie Hayter and many more currently on the shelf, and with a lack of TV time for the likes of Ricky Starks, it is easy to lose track of all those who are currently not featured regularly on AEW programming. Fans may have noticed though that former three-time AEW Women’s World Champion Hikaru Shida has been absent for some time now.

Shida has not competed on AEW programming since all the way back in January, when she defeated Queen Aminata on an episode of Rampage. Following that, she wrestled twice in Ring Of Honor, with her most recent match being against the ROH Women’s World Champion Athena, challenging for the gold at the 2024 Supercard Of Honor event over WrestleMania weekend. In the two months or so since, Shida hasn’t been seen at all.

According to a report on Select Portions on Fightful Select, Shida could be back in the mix. It is noted that there have been some “creative discussions” about a potential return to action. It wasn’t mentioned how soon to expect Shida back in AEW though.
