WWE Hell In A Cell 2021 - As It Happened

A fine pay-per-view from WWE

WWE revisited the demonic structure on June 20 with Hell In A Cell 2021 and the pay-per-view will go down as a fine show, if not one that will live long in the memory. Check out what happened below:

Natalya def. Mandy Rose - Kickoff Show

Both women competently wrestled back and forth for a few minutes until Mandy Rose took control after showcasing some aggression. Natalya evened the odds after channelling some aggression of her own a little while later, though.

Both women wrestled back and forth some more and Natalya picked up the win with the Sharpshooter.

Bianca Belair def. Bayley - Hell In A Cell Match for the SmackDown Women's Championship

It didn't take long for weapons to enter the fray as Bayley tried to deck the SmackDown Women's Champion with a steel chair, only for Bianca Belair to fire back with some Hair Whips and a Dropkick. Bayley gained the upper hand soon after, though, after she drilled The EST of WWE's head into the top of the ring post. The challenger then threw Belair into the ring post and Bayley spent time working over Bianca's left arm.

The viciousness of the match was displayed a couple of minutes later as Bianca raked Bayley's face across the cell. The Role Model escaped by biting Belair's arm and she followed up with kendo stick shots and a Sunset Flip Powerbomb into the cell. Bayley then collected a double kendo stick from under the ring and draped it between the apron and the cell. The decision quickly backfired on the former women's champion, though, as Belair caught her with a Spinebuster through the kendo sticks and capitalised with a steel chair shot.

Bayley gained the upper hand again and worked over Belair's arm with the steel chair, but Belair took advantage after a Jumping Knee backfired for the challenger. Belair tied her hair to Bayley's arm and capitalised with a kendo stick shot. She also battered The Role Model around the cell.

Belair eventually untied herself and a ladder came into play. Both women grappled over the weapon and Bayley got the better of the exchange, smashing Belair's face off the metal. The challenger then trapped Belair in between the ladder and Bayley connected with a Rose Plant. Bayley hurt her knee again in the process, though, and Belair managed to kick out by the time she made the cover.

Belair gained the advantage soon after and she decked Bayley with a KOD on the ladder for the win.

Seth Rollins def. Cesaro

Cesaro didn't have time to finish his entrance before Seth Rollins attacked him from behind. The Swiss Superman quickly got his bearings, though, and he dominated the early going once they entered the ring.

Seth fought back with a rake to the eye and he proceeded to work over Cesaro's left eye for the next few minutes. Cesaro eventually hulked up and battered Rollins with multiple Uppercuts and Punches before he shoved Seth's own glove down his throat.

Seth later gained the upper hand again following a Clubbing Forearm to the back of Cesaro's head. The Messiah whipped out the trash talk and decked his opponent with a Falcon Arrow and Enziguri for a near fall. He then set up for the stomp but Cesaro fired back with a Spinning Clothesline.

After both men got back to their feet, Cesaro embarrassed Rollins with the Swing and he locked in the Sharpshooter. The Swiss Superman transitioned into the Crossface before going back to the Sharpshooter. Cesaro then stomped away at Rollins' arm while in the Sharpshooter, but the former Universal Champion reversed into an Inside Cradle for the win.

Alexa Bliss def. Shayna Baszler

Shayna Baszler gained the upper hand following a Reginald distraction and The Queen Of Spades stomped away at Bliss until Bray Wyatt's former squeeze escaped.

Bliss whipped out the spookiness early as she crawled across the ring like a spider and worked away at Baszler. The former NXT Women's Champion fired back after Bliss stared at Reginald, though, and she dominated Little Miss Bliss for the next few minutes.

Bliss only cackled after Baszler's attacks and Alexa won a staring contest before she went wild on The Queen Of Spades. Two women with history in Nia Jax and Bliss then locked eyes and Alexa voodoed The Irresistible Force into slapping Reginald.

This allowed Baszler to lock in the Kirifuda Clutch but Bliss escaped and followed up with a DDT version of Sister Abigail. The triple crown women's champion then decked Baszler with Twisted Bliss for the victory.

Sami Zayn def. Kevin Owens

Both men fought back and forth in the opening minutes, but KO had to repeatedly gasp for air because of the Nigerian Nails he suffered on Friday's SmackDown. Zayn eventually gained the upper hand after decking Owens with a Tope Con Giro and he targeted the former Universal Champion's arm and throat.

KO showcased his inner fortitude and took Zayn out with a Clothesline on the outside. He tried to follow up with a Senton Bomb to the floor but Zayn got his knees up and capitalised with a Blue Thunder Bomb for a near fall.

Zayn continued to batter his former best friend until Owens decked Sami with a Stunner on the floor from out of nowhere. KO followed up with a flurry of offence but Zayn fought back with a Knee to the back of KO's head, sending him into the rope throat first. Zayn then capitalised with the Helluva Kick for the win.

Charlotte Flair def. Rhea Ripley by Disqualification - Raw Women's Championship

Charlotte Flair tried some dirty tricks before the bell and threw the Raw Women's Championship at Rhea Ripley. This allowed Flair to dominate the early going over a mentally shaken champion and The Queen targeted Ripley's knee.

Ripley eventually fought back, evening the playing field with the Prism Trap, but Flair fought back herself with a Natural Selection for a close near fall. Flair proceeded to work over the champion some more but Ripley continued to kick out despite the wounded knee.

Ripley caught Flair on the top turnbuckle and decked the 13-time women's champion with a Superplex for a near fall. Both women then traded blows and Flair won the exchange with some patented chops. She was sent crashing into the middle turnbuckle after Ripley avoided a Spear, though, and The Nightmare capitalised with a Riptide. Flair was too close to the ropes, however, and she safely broke up the pin.

Ripley then chased Flair on the outside but The Queen Dropkicked Rhea's knee into the steel steps. Charlotte followed up with a Spear and locked in the Figure-Eight, only for Ripley to make it to the ropes. Both women then spilled to the outside and Ripley decked Flair with the announce table cover to draw the disqualification.

Both women then continued to brawl after the match and Ripley left Flair lying in the middle of the ring after another Riptide.

Bobby Lashley def. Drew McIntyre - Hell In A Cell Match for the WWE Championship

Drew McIntyre wasted no time in going after Lashley and he battered The All Mighty around the demonic structure, driving him into the cage. Lashley then did the same to Drew until McIntyre countered with a Suplex into the cell. The challenger followed up with repeated steel step shots to Lashley's head.

A kendo stick was used against Lashley next before McIntyre introduced a table to the encounter. MVP handed Lashley his cane through the cell, though, and the WWE Champion used it to his advantage, causing McIntyre to collapse to the floor while grasping his throat.

Lashley briefly got rolling but McIntyre fired back with White Noise on the steel steps before he retrieved another table from under the ring. McIntyre walked back to his opponent and smashed the back of his head repeatedly into the cell. Lashley briefly fought back again until Drew regained control and decked the champion with a Reverse Alabama Slam on a steel chair for a near fall.

McIntyre tried to follow up with a Flying Steel Chair Shot but Lashley reversed into a Hurt Lock attempt. McIntyre escaped, though, and decked the champion with a Sit-Out Powerbomb for another near fall. The Scottish Warrior continued the punishment on the outside until Lashley blocked a steel step shot and sent Drew's head careening into the cell with the steps.

This turned the tide of the match and Lashley proceeded to batter McIntyre. He twice sent the challenger's face crashing into a steel chair with a Flatliner and kendo stick shots to McIntyre followed. The challenger hulked up, though, and decked Lashley with a Glasgow Kiss. The official was then taken down with a steel chair, at which point Drew hit Lashley with a Futureshock DDT and looked to have the match won.

Drew continued to punish Lashley with a steel chair and he caught the champion with a Claymore. The official outside the cell entered the cage, but MVP broke up the pin before the three count. MVP was then locked in the cell and an angry Drew McIntyre decimated Porter, putting him down with a Claymore.

Drew focusing on MVP only gave Lashley time to recover, though, and The All Mighty locked in the Hurt Lock. Drew countered by driving them both through a table. They re-entered the ring and Drew battered Lashley with more steel chair shots over and over again.

Lashley then set up for the Claymore but Lashley avoided it. The champion followed up with a Chokeslam through another table. Lashley then went for the Spear but McIntyre dodged it and rocked Lashley with another Glasgow Kiss. Drew followed up with another Futureshock DDT and set up the Claymore again. MVP grabbed McIntyre's leg from out of nowhere, though, and Lashley rolled The Scottish Warrior up for the 1-2-3.
