WWE NXT Expected To Be Involved At TNA Slammiversary

Update on WWE NXT-TNA crossover plans

The working relationship between WWE NXT and TNA Wrestling will have a presence at one of TNA's biggest shows of the year.

According to Mike Johnson of PWInsider, WWE NXT's involvement with TNA will continue at Slammiversary. How exactly NXT will be booked at Slammiversary is unknown but a WWE source noted to PWInsider that "nothing is off the table" for any plans between TNA and NXT crossovers.

While the appearances have yet to air, multiple NXT talents made surprise appearances at the TNA IMPACT tapings from the 2300 Arena in Philadelphia over the weekend. Jordynne Grace's open challenge was answered by Izzi Dame, with Grace ultimately successfully defending the TNA Knockouts World Championship. No Quarter Catch Crew also appeared on the show, with Charlie Dempsey taking on WWE alumni Zachary Wentz in a singles match.

The NXT-TNA working relationship has been in place since May when Jordynne Grace made her surprise debut on the WWE Performance Center show. This led to Grace unsuccessfully challenging for the NXT Women's Title at Battleground. Another popular element of the working relationship has seen Joe Hendry debut on WWE NXT and draw big numbers for WWE in the process.

Slammiversary will emanate from the Verdun Auditorium in Montreal, Quebec, Canada on July 20. The current card for Slammiversary is as follows:

  • Moose (c) vs. Josh Alexander vs. Nic Nemeth vs. Steve Maclin vs. TBA vs. TBA - TNA World Championship Elimination Match
  • Jordynne Grace (c) vs. Ash By Elegance - Knockouts World Championship
  • Mustafa Ali (c) vs. Mike Bailey - X-Division Championship
