WWE Raw Ratings Sink To All-Time Record Low

On this week's episode of Monday Night Raw, AJ Styles returned from the dead and punched his ticket to the Money In The Bank pay-per-view, The Viking Raiders vanquished The Street Profits, and Drew McIntyre continued his dominant reign as WWE Champion as he defeated Murphy in six minutes. 

WWE's struggles during the coronavirus pandemic continued, however, as this week's episode of Raw drew the lowest ratings in the show's history. The May 4 edition averaged only 1.686 million viewers, breaking the previous record of 1.78 million set on Christmas Eve 2018. 

While previous editions of Raw have shed viewers as the show goes on, many didn't even tune in at 8 pm ET as the red brand opened with 1.807 million. Viewership did still go down though as Raw entered its third hour with 1.506 million watching. 

How WWE looks to combat the falling ratings remains to be seen. Viewership has fallen by 25.9 percent since the coronavirus pandemic began, but Vince McMahon told investors during the Q1 2020 conference call that he doesn't think the global pandemic has impacted ratings. Instead, he thinks viewership is down because a lot of new Superstars have been introduced on the red brand and it takes time for them to get over with the audience at home.
