WWE Raw Results - March 15, 2021: Two Title Matches, Asuka Returns

Lots of action ahead of Fastlane

WWE dedicated much of the go-home edition of Monday Night Raw before Fastlane to WrestleMania 37, but a few things were put in place for Sunday's pay-per-view.

The broadcast opened with Bobby Lashley and MVP following the announcement that The All Mighty will defend the WWE Championship against Drew McIntyre at The Showcase Of The Immortals. MVP gave a brief promo about the upcoming title match but interruptions from The Miz & John Morrison and Drew McIntyre soon followed.

The Miz was largely ignored for much of the segment as McIntyre and Lashley exchanged words and the WWE Champion eventually attacked The Scottish Psychopath while Drew was distracted.

This led to a chaotic scene as The Miz beat McIntyre down ahead of their scheduled match and Lashley found himself on his back after Sheamus decked him while he was heading up the ramp. This ultimately enraged The All Mighty and Lashley vs. Sheamus was booked for the main event.

The Miz and McIntyre went one on one in the opening contest first, though, and The Scottish Warrior came alive and dominated the in-ring action once the bell rang. He then put The Miz out of commission with a Futureshock DDT and Claymore before he locked in the Full Nelson to win the match by submission.

Despite an intensive first 30 minutes on Raw, McIntyre cut a promo ahead of the main event. The two-time WWE Champion told a few jokes and gave a guarantee that he will beat Sheamus at Fastlane and go on to WrestleMania 37 and capture the WWE Title.

McIntyre stuck around for the main event and Lashley and Sheamus battered each other during their 17-minute match. The Celtic Warrior couldn't put Lashley away, though, and The All Mighty eventually caught Sheamus with a Spear to pick up the win as the four-time world champion went for a Brogue Kick.

Lashley's onslaught didn't end there, however, as he locked in the Hurt Lock on Sheamus after the bell. McIntyre then suddenly decked the WWE Champion with a Claymore to break up the submission and end Raw standing tall.

Beyond the latest developments in the WWE Championship picture, two titles were defended on the show as The Hurt Business put the Raw Tag Team Championship on the line against The New Day and Mustafa Ali challenged Riddle for the United States Title.

The Hurt Business vs. The New Day was first up and both teams wrestled their best match to date during the 13-minute contest. We even had a title change, as to many people's surprise, Xavier Woods and Kofi Kingston put Shelton Benjamin away with Daybreak for the 1-2-3 to become 11-time tag team champions.

The New Day didn't have long to celebrate with the gold, however, as AJ Styles and Omos headed to the ring and challenged them to a title match at WrestleMania 37. Woods and Kingston quickly accepted.

Riddle vs. Mustafa Ali then followed later in the show and we almost had a second title change as the former SmackDown Hacker rolled Riddle up for a pin. T-Bar inadvertently distracted the official, though, and Riddle took advantage with the Bro Derek to retain his title.

Asuka also returned to Monday Night Raw on this week's show. The Empress Of Tomorrow was scheduled to face Shayna Baszler, but she couldn't wait to get her hands on the woman who put her on the shelf as she headed to the ring during the tag team match between Lana & Naomi and Dana Brooke & Mandy Rose. Baszler, who was on commentary with Nia Jax, charged at Asuka but the Raw Women's Champion ducked and WWE officials had to separate the two women after a brief brawl.

While Asuka and Baszler were fighting on the outside, though, Lana hit the X-Factor on Mandy Rose, but God's Greatest Creation wasn't the legal woman and Dana Brooke took advantage with a Swinging Neckbreaker to pick up the win for her team.

Baszler and Asuka then rekindled their hostilities later in the episode and The Empress Of Tomorrow countered the Kirifuda Clutch into a pin to secure the victory after 90 seconds. The post-match events were more important, however, as Baszler locked in the Kirifuda Clutch again but Asuka escaped and showed a new aggression as she stomped Shayna's head into the bottom turnbuckle. She then tried to do it again after exposing the turnbuckle and pulling out Baszler's mouthguard, but the official stopped her to bring the segment to an end.

Shane McMahon and Braun Strowman also continued the rivalry no one asked for during Raw. They followed their widely-criticised segment from last week's show with another confrontation inside the ThunderDome as McMahon continued to call Strowman stupid while The Monster Among Men said he had been bullied by people his whole life before he challenged Shane to a match.

The Prodigal Son ultimately accepted and both men arrived in the ring for their bout later in the show. The match never took place, though, as Shane initially stalled by doing push-ups, jumping jacks and playing hopscotch on the outside. An enraged Braun then tried to grab Shane and The Monster Among Men chased McMahon until The Boy Wonder decked him with a camera. This gave McMahon the opening he needed to press home his advantage and he followed up with an Elbow Drop through the announce table before he covered the former Universal Champion in slime to end the latest chapter of their feud.

Fans won't have to wait long for the next chapter as McMahon and Strowman will square off at Fastlane.

Elsewhere on Raw, Bad Bunny returned after a few weeks away and rekindled his feud with The Miz and John Morrison. The rapper appeared alongside Damian Priest in a backstage segment with the former SmackDown Tag Team Champions which quickly came to an end. Bad Bunny then gave R-Truth the 24/7 Championship in exchange for multiple pieces of "Stone Cold" Steve Austin merchandise.

Damian Priest was then in action following the backstage segment and defeated Jaxson Ryker in just over 30 seconds. Elias attacked Priest following the match, but The Drifter ended up on his back following a punch from Bad Bunny and Hit The Lights from Priest.

Bad Bunny's night didn't end there, though, as John Morrison suddenly headed down the ramp and distracted the rapper and Priest while Miz snuck up from behind and decked Bunny with Elias' guitar.

The feud between Alexa Bliss and Randy Orton also continued on Raw and they are scheduled to go one on one at Fastlane.
