WWE Release Scott Dawson & Dash Wilder Of The Revival

Where to next for the former NXT, Raw and SmackDown Tag Team Champions?

WWE have confirmed this afternoon that Scott Dawson and Dash Wilder of The Revival have been released from the company.

The announcement was made via a brief statement on WWE.com a short time ago: "Effective today, Friday April 10, 2020, WWE and The Revival have agreed on their immediate release from WWE. We wish them all the best in their future endeavors."

The news has been somewhat of an inevitability for some time, with The Revival having allegedly first asked for their release while still dressed in their ring gear during the January 13, 2019 edition of Monday Night Raw.

Since then, the pair appear to have been proactive ahead of their proposed departure from WWE - trademarking terms such as  “Top Guys,” “Say Yeah,” and “No Flips, Just Fists.”

Dawson and Wilder's release brings a six-year run as a tag team in WWE to an end. Originally known as The Mechanics, Scott and Dash got together in the summer of 2014 and went on to win the NXT and Raw Tag Team titles twice, and the SmackDown Tag Team titles on one occasion.

Could they be bound for All Elite Wrestling?
