2 Title Changes At NJPW Hyper Battle

New champions crowned at NJPW Hyper Battle

New Japan Pro-Wrestling held their Hyper Battle show at Sumo Hall today and the event featured two title changes.

In the fourth match on the card, Taichi defeated Toru Yano in a No Rope, Ring Out Match to capture the KOPW 2022 Provisional Trophy.

To win the match, either Taichi or Toru Yano had to force their opponent out of the ring and the Suzuki-gun member was the man who managed to do so after he grappled with Toru Yano.

New IWGP Heavyweight Tag Team Champions were also crowned at Hyper Battle as The United Empire's Jeff Cobb and Great-O-Khan defeated CHAOS' YOSHI-HASHI and Hirooki Goto to win the gold.

The United Empire first put Hirooki Goto out of commission with an Imperial Drop before Cobb hit YOSHI-HASHI with Tour Of The Islands for the win.

Goto and YOSHI-HASHI had been champions since the January 4 Wrestle Kingdom 16 show. Today's loss ends their reign after 95 days and one successful defence.

Today was also the first gold Great-O-Khan has captured in NJPW. Jeff Cobb, meanwhile, is a former NEVER Openweight Champion.
