2 Title Matches Set For NJPW Summer Struggle In Sapporo

Gold will be on the line on July 10 & July 11

Two title matches have been set for New Japan Pro-Wrestling's Summer Struggle In Sapporo shows on July 10 and July 11.

On July 10, El Desperado will defend the IWGP Junior Heavyweight Championship against Taiji Ishimori. The Bone Soldier issued the challenge for the gold back at Dominion, which was promptly accepted by El Desperado only moments after the champion had defeated YOH in his first title defence.

This will be the first time Ishimori has challenged for the gold since he dropped the IWGP Junior Heavyweight Title to Hiromu Takahashi at Wrestle Kingdom 15.

The IWGP Heavyweight Tag Team Championship will also be on the line on July 11 when Dangerous Tekkers defend the gold against Los Ingobernables de Japon's Tetsuya Naito and SANADA. LIJ put themselves in title contention at Dominion after SANADA pinned Zack Sabre Jr. in a six-man tag team match and shenanigans from Naito and co. only enhanced their odds of a title match.

On a recent Kizuna Road show, Naito and SANADA persuaded Taichi and ZSJ to sign their autographs on an event program, only for LIJ to reveal a poorly produced 'championship match contract' on the back. As a result, NJPW has sanctioned the Tag Team Title match for July 11.
