3 Title Matches Set For NJPW Burning Spirit In Kobe

Three big matches coming up in NJPW

Following G1 Climax 32, New Japan Pro-Wrestling's Burning Spirit tour will get underway on September 2 and run until a major show on September 25 in Kobe World Hall.

That show will feature three title matches, one of which is Will Ospreay vs. David Finlay for the IWGP United States Heavyweight Championship. Finlay defeated Ospreay during G1 Climax 32 and following The Commonwealth Kingpin's loss to Kazuchika Okada in the final, Finlay reminded Ospreay backstage about his win, staking his claim to a title match.

Karl Anderson will also defend the NEVER Openweight Championship for the first time against Hiroshi Tanahashi on September 25. The Ace put his name in the title picture after he and Toru Yano recently defeated The Good Brothers in tag team action. Tanahashi is a former NEVER Openweight Champion, having held the gold for 93 days in 2021.

In the third title match on September 25, United Empire's Francesco Akira and TJP will defend the IWGP Junior Heavyweight Tag Team Championships against former champions Ryusuke Taguchi and Master Wato. United Empire captured the gold from Team Six Or Nine back on June 20.

Also set for June 25 are two tag team matches that will see Chase Owens and Bad Luck Fale square off with Great-O-Khan and Jeff Cobb, and Tetsuya Naito and SANADA face Dangerous Tekkers.
