Absent AEW Wrestler Returning To The Ring For First Time In Nearly Two Years
The AEW women's division will see a return soon
Dec 27, 2024
The All Elite Wrestling women’s division could be getting a boost some time in the near future, as the in-ring return for AEW wrestler Tay Melo has been officially announced. Melo has been out of the ring for nearly two years due to maternity leave, having a child with fellow AEW wrestler and current ROH World Tag Team Champion, Sammy Guevara. The two gave birth to their daughter, Luna, last year. When it comes to her return though, it won’t be with AEW.
Much like her tag team partner and friend Anna Jay did in recent months, Tay Melo is heading over to Japan to compete in World Wonder Ring Stardom. On Friday, January 3, Melo will be teaming with Mina Shirakawa, who has frequented AEW programming over the last few months, to take on the reigning ROH Women’s World Champion Athena and Thekla. Melo has never competed in the promotion before, so this will mark her debut.
Melo posted an emotional video to social media revealing her return to in-ring competition. Her match in Japan comes just two days before Sammy Guevara competes at the Wrestle Dynasty event at the Tokyo Dome.
