AEW Christmas Collision Receives Big Ratings Boost
Collision had a big ratings increase since last week
Dec 27, 2024
AEW’s Christmas Collision episode on December 21 saw the company take over the Hammerstein Ballroom in New York City, following on from the ROH Final Battle 2024 PPV the previous night. The Collision show saw the likes of Will Ospreay vs. Ricochet in the Continental Classic, a face-off between Worlds End opponents Adam Cole and MJF, the return of The Costco Guys to AEW programming, and Claudio Castagnoli vs. Darby Allin (also in the C2), boasting several notable names across the card. Thanks in part to a College Football Play-Off lead-in, Christmas Collision performed well in the ratings.
In a complete contrast to the dropping ratings and the low number of 246,000 viewers the week prior on December 14, the December 21 show saw a 158.1 percent boost in ratings, per Wrestlenomics. The show drew a viewing audience of 635,000 viewers, which proved to be a major jump.
AEW’s relationship with its ratings hasn’t been ideal over the last year, seeing an overall drop from previous years. The promotion is heading to the Max streaming service in the new year.
