Absent WWE Star Teases Return

Could an absent WWE star be about to make their return?

A long absent WWE star has teased their return on social media, sparking hopes that an in-ring return could be just around the corner.

After being out of action for over six months, former WWE Champion Sheamus took to Twitter/X, posting the following:

“ANYONE missing 5 star banger matches? #MOTY2021 #MOTY2022 #MOTY2023” posted Sheamus referencing his critically lauded matches with Gunther and Drew McIntyre over the Intercontinental Championship.

Sheamus last wrestled in August 2023, losing to Edge in the Rated R Superstar’s last WWE match before jumping ship to All Elite Wrestling.

The former Brawling Brutes leader was later taken off the road due to a ‘really bad’ shoulder injury, and despite being advertised to return in late November 2023, Sheamus has remained absent from WWE television.

Part of WWE since 2006, Sheamus just needs the Intercontinental Championship to finally become a Grand Slam Champion in the organisation. The ‘Celtic Warrior’s WWE contract is believed to be expiring in Q1 2024, but it is expected WWE will add time on due to Sheamus’ lengthy absence.
