AEW All In may not have set the all-time attendance record for a paid pro wrestling event after all.

All Elite Wrestling announced a paid attendance of 81,035 for All In during the pay-per-view on August 27 from Wembley Stadium. An estimate from WrestleTix, meanwhile, had the final number of tickets distributed at 83,131, while Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter estimated the final attendance figure, including suites, was potentially 85,371.

Thousands of people who bought tickets for AEW All In seemingly didn't actually attend the show, however, as a freedom of information request for Brent Borough Council has revealed the turnstile count for the August 27 pay-per-view was 72,265.

"The actual numbers registered entering the Stadium through the turnstiles was 72,265 – this is reflective of what attended on the night and not the total number of tickets sold or no-shows etc," Brent Borough Council wrote.

Wrestlenomics reported that a typical AEW event has a turnstile count of between 80 percent and 90 percent of the paid attendance or tickets distributed. For All In, the figure was 89 percent based on WrestleTix's 83,131.

This ultimately complicates if AEW set the paid attendance record with All In. The attendance figure of 80,709 for WWE WrestleMania 32 was based on the turnstile count from the Arlington Police Department. The number is ultimately much higher than All In's 72,265.
