After months of speculation, The Devil made his face known at AEW Worlds End on December 30, with Adam Cole revealed to be the one behind the mask.

Cole, and cohorts Roderick Strong, Wardlow, and The Kingdom, ran a campaign of terror in AEW, beating down the likes of Jay White, The Acclaimed, and others, before ultimately costing MJF the AEW World Championship at Worlds End.

On the January 3 edition of AEW Dynamite, Cole revealed why he did what he did, taking to the ring with his crew - now dubbed the Undisputed Kingdom. After a glowing introduction form best friend Strong, Cole sat down for story time, revealing that MJF had it coming to him, with the former champion dubbed a ‘narcissist’ who created more enemies than anyone, and ran his mouth for years about everyone in the AEW locker room, as well as the fans.

Cole continued, and after noting that MJF was ‘gone and never coming back’ said that he stabbed MJF in the back before he had the opportunity to stab Cole. Cole further said that MJF needed Cole, as Cole was the one who bent over backwards and literally broke his ankle helping and saving MJF, and took credit for getting the crowd to love MJF.

As for the Undisputed Kingdom, Cole revealed that they are after gold. Matt Taven and Mike Bennett currently possess the ROH World Tag Team Championships, Strong is coming for Orange Cassidy’s International Championship, whilst Wardlow will be gunning for the AEW World Championship. Cole added that when Wardlow wins the title that ‘Mr. Mayhem’ will relinquish the belt and hand it to Cole, a remark which caused an eyebrow flicker from Wardlow himself.
