After weeks of speculation, Adam Copeland is ‘All Elite’ with the multi-time world champion making his All Elite Wrestling debut at WrestleDream in Seattle.
Speculation had been rife about Copeland joining AEW after his WWE deal expired on September 30, with many assuming the former Edge would appear during the PPV main event between Darby Allin, and Copeland’s former tag partner Christian Cage.
Cage successfully defended his TNT Championship against Allin in a two-out-of-three falls match after Allin’s protege Nick Wayne turned on him, laying him out with the TNT Championship. The two men and Luchasaurus then laid out Allin and Sting as the lights went out.
A grindhouse-style video played on screen showing a muscle car driving through the streets of Detroir, with the words ‘RATED R’ painted on the tarmac. The arena PA then played audio stating ‘You think you know him’ before Alter Bridge’s Metalingus blared out, with Copeland emerging to a huge pop. Copeland looked as though he was going to align with Cage, but instead laid out Wayne and Luchasaurus, before shaking hands with Sting and Darby.
AEW President Tony Khan then took to Twitter/X to confirm that the ‘Rated R Superstar’ was indeed All Elite:
“Welcome to the @AEW team! "Rated R Superstar" Adam Copeland @EdgeRatedR is ALL ELITE! Thank you all watching #AEWWrestleDream TONIGHT!”
