AEW star Adam Copeland has been on the sidelines since breaking his foot at the Double or Nothing pay-per-view back in May (while retaining the TNT Title against Malakai Black in a Barbed Wire Steel Cage match).

During the Full Gear media scrum, Tony Khan was asked about Copeland's status, with the AEW owner praising the former two-time TNT Champion and saying he looks forward to having him back.

In an update, PWInsider noted that the 51-year-old has been cleared for physicality, but is not expected back on AEW television until he finishes shooting his scenes for the second season of Disney+ series Percy Jackson. Sources indicate that shooting should finish in January.

Some have speculated that the WWE Hall of Famer could show up at Fight for the Fallen on January 1, since the show will take emanate from Asheville, North Carolina (which is where he resides). While it is a possibility, PWInsider had not heard any specifics with regards to a return date.

When Copeland does return to AEW, he still won't be able to wrestle as Edge, as WWE recently filed to trademark the term.
