Adam Page Wins AEW World Title From Kenny Omega At AEW Full Gear

The Hangman gets it done

"Hangman" Adam Page is the new AEW World Heavyweight champion, defeating Kenny Omega in the main event of AEW Full Gear on Saturday night in Minneapolis.

Late in the match, Omega countered a Buckshot Lariat with a V-Trigger. However, when Omega attempted the One Winged Angel, Page dropped down and delivered his own variation for two. Page then followed up with a Buckshot Lariat to the back of Omega's head, before going to the other side of the ring and hitting a Buckshot to the front for the win.

The Young Bucks limped down to the ring late in the match, but did not interfere, adhering to Page's threat to them the night before. They merely watched in silence as Page finished Omega off to win the title.

Page becomes the second man to hold two different belts in AEW, following Omega (with whom he held the Tag Team titles for over seven months in 2020).

Omega had reigned as AEW World champion for 346 days, winning the title from Jon Moxley on December 2 of last year. It marks the first time Omega's been pinned since August 13, when Christian Cage defeated him to win the Impact World title on Rampage.
