All Elite Wrestling and New Japan Pro-Wrestling could be looking to take measures to prevent another Stephanie Vaquer situation from happening.

Vaquer, who at the time was the NJPW STRONG Women's Champion, dropped the belt to Mercedes Moné in a critically acclaimed match at AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door in June. Only a couple of weeks after the event, though, it emerged that Vaquer had signed with WWE, with interest igniting in the former CMLL Women's World Champion following Forbidden Door.

To stop such a situation from happening in the future, NJPW and AEW sources have told Fightful Select that it is likely talent who work Forbidden Door or another co-promoted AEW show would have to agree to not immediately join WWE. This is likely to be a clause added to their contract as opposed to a separate arrangement.

Stephanie Vaquer made her WWE NXT debut in early October and she is currently involved in the NXT Women's Title picture with the likes of champion Roxanne Perez, Giulia, and Cora Jade.

Fightful noted that WWE appear to be very happy with Vaquer so far and the talent looks to be enjoying her time with the company.
