AEW Announces Beach Break 2022

Sunny Cleveland?

The 2022 edition of AEW Beach Break will take place near the beaches of Lake Eerie, Tony Khan has revealed.

Appearing on Rasslin' on Wednesday, the AEW president announced Beach Break will be taped from the Wolstein Center in Cleveland, Ohio on Wednesday, January 26.

January in Cleveland might not be the best time of year to wear a hawaiian shirt and shorts, though, with temperatures in the city currently hovering around -4°C.

The 'Beach Break' theme will be used for the January 26 edition of Dynamite and the January 28 episode of Rampage, which will be taped following Dynamite.

AEW held the first edition of Beach Break in February of 2021 at Daily's Place in Jacksonville, Florida. On the show, Hangman Page and Matt Hardy defeated Chaos Project, Britt Baker vanquished Thunder Rosa, Lance Archer earned a win over Eddie Kingston in a Lumberjack Match, and Chris Jericho and MJF earned an AEW World Tag Team Title shot at Revolution after winning a Battle Royal.

Kenny Omega and The Good Brothers also defeated Jon Moxley, PAC and Rey Fenix in the main event.
