AEW Announces College American Football-Themed Dynamite Countdown Show

A special countdown show ahead of Dynamite

All Elite Wrestling will look to take advantage of Dynamite being preempted to Saturday, October 23 from its usual Wednesday night timeslot.

Speaking on Busted Open Radio, Tony Khan announced AEW will air a special college American football-themed countdown show ahead of Dynamite.

Khan said there will be "an AEW/college football show. It'll be a preview show that we'll do as kind of a countdown to the live Dynamite on Saturday."

Further details about the countdown show have yet to be revealed.

This isn't the only time professional wrestling has crossed over into college American football in recent weeks. WWE Champion Big E was recently a guest on FOX's Big Noon Kickoff ahead of Iowa vs. Penn State. The New Day member was a defensive lineman for the Iowa Hawkeyes during his time in college.

AEW Dynamite will be broadcast from the Addition Financial Arena in Orlando, Florida on Saturday, October 23. The current card for the show is as follows:

  • Cody Rhodes vs. Malakai Black
  • Bryan Danielson vs. Dustin Rhodes - AEW World Championship Eliminator Tournament
  • Lance Archer vs. Eddie Kingston - AEW World Championship Eliminator Tournament
