AEW Collision Premiere Confirmed For Chicago

The "Windy City" will host the premiere episode

The premiere episode of AEW Collision will indeed take place at the United Center in Chicago on Saturday, June 17.

Tony Khan made the location official during Wednesday's AEW Dynamite broadcast. On last week's Dynamite, when Khan announced Collision's premiere, he named the locations for several other early Collision episodes, but not the premiere.

All signs had CM Punk making his AEW return on the Collision premiere in his native Chicago, before a reported hang-up last week led to AEW holding off on announcing the premiere episode's location. Reportedly, the hang-up had to do with Ace Steel, who was fired last October in the fallout of the post-All Out brawl.

Dave Meltzer had reported that Jacksonville's Daily's Place was under consideration for an alternate location, should Punk and AEW not come to an agreement.

Earlier on Wednesday, both Fightful and PWTorch reported to different degrees that Punk and AEW had settled their issues, paving the way for AEW to announce the United Center for the premiere.

In Khan's announcement, he did not mention Punk by name. It's not clear how Punk's actual return will be carried out.
