AEW Considering Bringing Absent Talent Back To TV

An absent talent could be making a return to AEW television.

AEW are reportedly considering bringing back an absent talent, according to a Q&A session by Fightful Select.

Sean Ross Sapp reported that there have been discussions within AEW about bringing Rebel back to TV as an onscreen character, although no further details were given.

Rebel - real name Tanea Brooks - disappeared from her onscreen role shortly after Britt Baker didn't turn on ally Jamie Hayter, instead remaining a babyface. The reported feeling within AEW was that Rebel's heelish gimmick didn't fit with Baker and Hayter.

It remains to be seen whether this possible return for Rebel would indicate a heel turn for Britt.

Although primarily used in a sidekick role for Baker, Rebel also occasionally wrestled in AEW. Her last match was a victory against Vickie Dreamboat on the August 21, 2022 edition of Dark, while her last televised bout was a six-woman tag team match pitting herself, Baker and Hayter against the trio of Thunder Rosa, Tay Conti and Anna Jay. That occurred on November 10, 2021.
